Aliyev’s Blitzkrieg is Doomed to Failure: Modest Kolerov

“Aliyev doesn’t lose hope of a Blitzkrieg,” Modest Kolerov, Russian political analyst, editor-in-chief of Regnum news agency, first class advisor of Russian Federation, told 168.am, touching upon unleashed unprecedented military actions on Nagorno-Karabakh—Azerbaijan contact line.

Note, Azerbaijan’s active attacks along the all line of contact between the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces are still in process. Heater clashes are recorded in southern (Hadrut) and north-eastern (Martakert) directions. Both sides have recorded victims, wounded, the Armenian side downed two military helicopters and a drone.

Modest Kolerov said, he repeated not once, that Aliyev still hoped for implementing a Blitzkrieg. According to Kolerov, he needs his own war to assert himself in his own country. “The war isn’t waged for a victory, but for impacting NK population, so that he appears in a situation, when world leading powers convince him. This is a complex of a child, who is less loved. The war, he tries to resume, is doomed to failure. There is not a single chance for his victory. He unleashes that war exclusively out of his selfish instigations,” the Russian politician said.

To the question, whether the occurrence may be qualified as a Blitzkrieg attempt, he replied, that it was not successful, and won’t be, as Nagorno Karabakh Republic Defence Army conducts successful defensive battles throughout all directions of the contact line, causing significant losses to the adversary’s manpower and equipment.

According to Modest Kolerov, Aliyev’s diplomatic defeat in the USA became one of the factors, due to which he started to attach attention trough war.

Touching upon the role of strategic partner of the Republic of Armenia, and, pursuant RA authorities, security guarantor, in likewise situation, Modest Kolerov said, he was sure Russia was taking steps to cease the war resumed by Azerbaijan. “If Armenia applies to Russia to implement its CSTO liabilities, Russia will necessarily support,” Kolerov said.
