The Agreement on United Air Defense System between Armenia and Russia to be Debated at the Forthcoming NA Session

The agreement on initiating a united air defense system between Armenia and Russia will be debated at the NA extraordinary session. The agreement is included in the agenda of extraordinary session to be convened on June 27.

On the whole, 21 issues have been included in the agenda. The issue of amendments to the Electoral Code will be debated as well. Need for amendments to the Electoral Code emerged after the authorities and the opposition agreed on a range of key issues and signed a statement on consensus.

The agreement “On creating a united air defense system in the Caucasian collective security region between the Republic of Armenia and Russian Federation” was signed on December 23, 2015.

Russia plans to sign agreements on creating united air defense systems with Central Asia states as well.
