Prime-Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s response to Robert Kocharian’s interview above

Prime-Minister Tigran Sargsyan has answered the statements of Robert Kocharian in a facebook post:

“First, I would like to send my New Year and Christmas congratulations to retired president of Armenia Robert Kocharian. These celebrations are the most respected ones for our Christian nation and they contain big meaning. This meaning says that everyone should meet the New Year in a better spiritual shape by forgiving people and expecting the same from others, as well as sending best wishes and love to them. I would like to use this opportunity and wish Mr. Kocharian limitless kindness, goodwill, tolerance and love.

As Armenia’s Prime-Minister, during my office I have discussed statements made by Mr. Kocharyan twice.

The first time I spoke about him was my statement in an interview saying that Robert Kocharian, the second president of Armenia is a national hero, and his name should be written with gold letters in Armenia’s history.

The second time I discussed the second president’s statements was that I agreed with his critical statements and said that it was the incumbent government that was Robert Kocharian’s team he relied on. I would like to say that the team that has been crystallized due to the efforts of Serzh Sargsyan also bears responsibility for the things that were done or failed to be done in the tenure of the second president.

I am very happy that my annual closing interview caught the attention of Mr. Kocharian. I am happy also due to the fact that more important things and events could catch his attention, for example the presidential and the mayoral elections, Armenia’s application for integration with the Customs Union, the compulsory pension fund (which, by the way, was initiated during the second office term of Mr. Kocharian), etc.

I agree with Mr. Kocharian’s observation that little dogs in service (7or.am and zham.am), who are thirsty of criticizing our policy, will become active these days as freedom of speech has unprecedentedly grown in our country during the past five years. I will discuss the statements about professional issues such as mortgage credits and construction separately.”

P.S. There is a very nice proverb, which would be very beneficial for our society and we could use it to measure morality: “Do not judge people with what others say about them, but judge people with what they say about others.”
