Azerbaijan blackmails Armenia, Karabakh, Minsk group co-chairs and the international community. Vagharshak Harutyunyan, general-lieutenant, former MOD, gave a likewise assessment to unleashed unprecedented military actions on Nagorno Karabakh—Azerbaijan contact line.
“These are blackmailing activities. Azerbaijan also wants to settle tactical issues, take heights, which are beneficiary for itself,” he said.
According to V.Harutyunyan, the factor of Turkey is existent here as well, which formerly instigated Azerbaijan to such actions and provocations to increase its role and influence, “Turkey also tries to divert the international community, as it yet has problems linked to Syria, the USA and Kurds. This has even been touched upon in Russian press, that Turkey’s special services, through their agents of influence in Azerbaijan, have set an issue of initiating provocations and diverting from them.”
Former MOD hesitated to say how long tension on border will last, “It depends on actions to be taken by our army, and what they presently do. One thing should be fixed, that Azerbaijanis failed to reach purposes set by them, due to literate and immediate response by our army, and depends on what kind of actions our army will initiate now.”
To the question how adequate reflection of the international community is, V.Harutyunyan stated that the international community again calls on both sides, however, it’s clear, that the Armenian side—Karabakh and Armenia, don’t pursue likewise purpose, “To understand, from which side provocation is, we should attentively follow proposals by international organizations, that a ceasefire control mechanism was implemented on the contact line, who is for, and who—against.
Armenia and NK were for, and Azerbaijan was against, as they don’t care, that their actions were uncovered. It’s obvious, however, international organizations don’t possess a likewise mechanism to clearly address to a certain party. However, statement by Bordyuzha is very clearly defined, Russia’s president’s approach as well, who claims to suspend all that, and conversation of Russia’s MOD with those of Azerbaijan and Armenia is directed to suspension of those activities on the contact line.”
