NSS Issues a New Statement
The National Security Service of Armenia announces that on the occasion of the seized Police precinct 47 people have been arrested or detained under the Article 219 (seizing buildings, means of transport and communication) and the Article 235 (illegally acquiring, using, keeping, transferring or carrying weapons, ammunition, explosive devices) of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
24 people were charged with various combinations under the Articles 218 (taking hostage), 219 and 235 of the Criminal Code.
“On August 1, 2016 the Investigation Department of the National Security Service has submitted a written request to the Armenian Prosecutor General’s Office to transfer the above-mentioned criminal case to another investigation body in accordance with the rules of the investigation set by the Article 190 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia,” the NSS’s statement says.
