Everybody in the world should perceive, that currently there are topics, in case of which pressure on Armenia won’t lead to positive results: Tevan Poghosyan

“Everything depends on how the negotiators or the person, representing the country, will make use of the existent situation: he may use it positively and not so much,” NA MP Tevan Poghosyan told 168.am, replying to the question what expectations he has from the forthcoming presidential meetings in Baku and Moscow, and what reflection will have recent developments in Armenia on NK negotiations.

The MP noted, when a meeting on that level is held, not only issues referring to the three countries are being touched upon, but other global issues as well, “It’s clear that reflection will be made to Karabakh process as well. After that Russia-Turkey meeting will be held, then Armenia-Russia meeting between Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin. In all these it’s clear that each country will attempt to pursue its own interests. No matter what the sides will agree, we should be able to stand our ground.”

T.Poghosyan considers that we should be able to quickly understand what position we take, “The developments may lead to a situation, that in the world everyone should perceive that currently there are topics, in case of which pressures on Armenia can’t lead to a positive result.”

He is sure that Armenia should be able to realize that it should stabilize its internal life. T.Poghosyan considers that presently our issues are more available not only in external, but in internal fields as well, “We have no right to gain time or taking some artificial steps of hurrying or doing something, changing positions of people, by that to simulating, that some changes are being implemented. We all saw who should be punished, not only the people, who took weapons and initiated some activities, but the guilty should be punished. We’ll be ready to confront all international challenges after internal social consolidation is recorded.”

He anticipates, that at least this time things won’t develop like they used to, i.e. on the level of words, but the authorities will undertake real activities and all promises will be kept.

To the question whether the authorities learned lessons on account of the fact, that president Serzh Sargsyan mentioned in his speech that in Karabakh issue unilateral concessions are excluded, dismissing of high-ranking officials has also been recorded, T.Poghosyan replied, “Lessons learned are only observed through actions, until now they only say that lessons have been learned. Hopefully, this time issues will be set differently, but this is only hope.”
