Russia and Turkey may Abandon US Dollar
Russia and Turkey may use their national currencies during trade, Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters after he was back from St. Petersburg, Haberturk reports.
Erdogan considers that instead of US dollar use of national currencies will be beneficial for both countries.
In the first half of ongoing year trade turnover between Turkey and Russia comprised USD 8 billion, and in the same period of the previous year—USD 10-11 billion.
According to the data of Turkish Statistical Institute, Russia’s trade turnover in 2015 comprised USD 23 billion.
