USD 35 mln trade turnover doesn’t reflect real potential of two EAEU member states: Vardan Aramyan

Vardan Aramyan, RA Minister of Finance, received Igor Nazaruk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Armenia, on October 25.

Stressing Armenia-Belarus cooperation expansion possibilities, the Minister stated that USD 35 million trade turnover doesn’t reflect real potential of two EAEU member states: there are all preconditions to develop mutual commodities turnover through EAEU mechanisms.

Expressing his gratitude for the possibility of meeting, Ambassador Igor Nazaruk congratulated Vardan Aramyan on his new position and expressed readiness to raise their cooperation to a new level. Touching upon similarities of the system of values of the people of Armenia and Belarus, Ambassador Igor Nazaruk stated that he agrees with Minister Aramyan in not total use of available economic potential, and is sure, that during the joint work more productive and mutually beneficial solutions will be found, which will allow to provide growth of economic indices and activate bilateral investments.

The interlocutors particularly reflected to the perspective of forthcoming production of Belarusian agricultural equipment and modernized samples of public transportation in Armenia. Belarus proposed to discuss the opportunities of making use of foreign loan programs.

Vardan Aramyan highlighted the necessity of provision of mutual partnership, extension of export markets, as well as the approach of protecting businessmen from technical hindrances, which lies on the ground of EAEU economic concept.
