More arrivals, than departures recorded last year through air transport

Last year passenger flow in Armenia’s airports comprised 10.4% compared with 2015. According to the data issued by General Department of the Civil Aviation, difference in passenger flow comprised about 200 thousand people.

In January-December 2016 passenger flow in “Zvartnots” airport comprised 2 million 105 thousand 540 people, exceeding last year’s index by 12%. This index has been the highest since 1992. Last year 1 million 48 thousand 153 passengers departed from Yerevan and 1 million 57 thousand 387 passengers arrived in Yerevan, and in 2015 the number of those departed from Yerevan comprised 944 thousand 373, and those arrived—935 thousand 294, i.e. the number of arriving passengers has exceeded those departing by 8500.

Passenger flow in Gyumri’s “Shirak” airport, re-launched after 8 months pause, comprised 12421 passengers. Here the number of departing passengers exceeded the number of arriving passengers with an insignificant number.
