All leaders of political forces represented in the City Hall of Sabadell have signed a joint statement, which acknowledges the Armenian Genocide and defines it as a crime against humanity. An excerpt from the statement says,

“Any crime against humanity must be condemned, in order for such happenings never to be repeated anywhere in the world, against representatives of any nation, race or religion. The city officials of Sabadell officially recognize the Armenian Genocide.” The document has been written by the “Ciudadanos” party, based on the request of the Armenian community of Sabadell.

Spokesman of the party Adrian Hernandez said they welcome the support of their colleagues in this matter, because it enables the city of Sabadell to join the list of Spanish cities which have officially recognized and condemned the Armenian Genocide.
