Fruits and sugar prices record highest growth
The National Statistical Service has issued the report on “Index for consumption prices in the Republic of Armenia for January-December 2016”.
Prices for consumer goods have decreased in Armenia by 1.1% on a 12-month basis (December 2016 compared with December 2015). From which: prices for consumer goods have decreased by 1.3%, and prices for food products—by 0.2%.
In case of 5 out of 15 commodities of food products prices have gone up. The most growth recorded prices for fruits and sugar, respectively by 17% and 14.6%.
Compared with December 2015 price for eggs has gone up by 6.8% in December 2016, non-alcoholic beverages—by 3.6%, cigarette—by 3.4%.
Regarding the other 10 commodities drop in price has been recorded. Prices for wheat products and confectionery have recorded the most decrease—by 3.7%.
