60 year-old man’s murder in Yerevan revealed
In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee 60 year-old G. Matosyan’s murder was revealed. The suspect was arrested.
The man’s body with septic changes and multiple fractures on facial skull bones was found on May 14, 2018 in the neighborhood of one of the houses in Aygestan of the city of Yerevan.
A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code, an investigatory plan was worked out, working hypotheses were put forward. In the result of investigatory actions of great volume circumstances of murder were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified.
Pursuant to preliminary investigation data the murder had been committed more than a month before the body was found – on April 10, 2018 by the son of the actual wife of the victim’s acquaintance.
Particularly, it was found out that the victim’s friend with his actual wife, one year-old child and wife’s son lived in the victim’s house. Pursuant to testimonies, the family often argued over domestic affairs and during the arguments violence was also used against wife. The son, who had been in military service since January, was informed about it and wanted to revenge. In April, 2018 he returned home on a short holiday. With the purpose of taking a revenge on his mother’s husband, first he inflicted the household injuries incompatible with life with an axe in the barn. Then at home he threw a grenade under the feet of his mother’s husband then hit with an axe on his head. Light damage was inflicted to the latter’s health. The suspect was arrested.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case and to give an appropriate criminal legal assessment.
