Preliminary Investigation of Criminal Case Initiated on Kamo Piruzyan’s Murder in Alaverdi Completed

Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on murder of the resident of Alaverdi town K. Piruzyan was completed in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee. On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against two people for organizing and committing murder.

It was earlier informed that on June 13, 2017 the resident of Alaverdi Kamo Piruzyan died of firearm injuries incompatible with life caused by the shots fired near the shop located at 20 Tumanyan, Alaverdi.

In the result of investigatory and other procedural measures of great volume conducted within the criminal case the motive of crime was found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified. Data were obtained on the allegation that the murder had been ordered. During comprehensive investigation other criminal manifestations were revealed, as well.

Thus, according to the evidence obtained during pretrial proceeding preparation work for K. Piruzyan’s murder has started since January, 2016 to revenge for murder of two friends of the resident of Alaverdi V. Abgaryan committed by K. Piruzyan’s brother Vardan Piruzyan.

Pursuant to the roles, the resident of Alaverdi V. Davtyan followed K. Piruzyan and on the day of the incident near the shop located at 20, Tumanyan, Alaverdi town fired shots towards him from the gun of «Makarov» model. The latter died at the scene of the injuries he had sustained. Pursuant to data of the criminal case the gun was given to Davtyan by V. Abgaryan. Before committing the murder the person having committed the alleged crime accompanied by another person went to the area called «Canyon of Marts» for several times to master the weapon properly, to get accurate shooting skills.

Besides, it was found out that V. Abgaryan gave a bribe to two officials of the investigative body to conceal his relation to K. Piruzyan’s murder. A criminal case was initiated on the mentioned case, was separated as a separate proceeding and sent to the RA Special Investigatory Service according to investigative subordination.

On the base of sufficient evidence obtained in the result of comprehensive, complete and objective investigation the investigator made a decision to change the charges previously pressed against V. Abgaryan and Vl. Davtyan and new charges were pressed.

Thus, charge was pressed against V. Abgaryan according to the Part 1 of the Article 235, the Part 3 of the Article 38, the Point 8 of the Part 2 of the Article 104, the Part 1 of the Article 235, the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 312 and the Part 2 of the Article 312 of RA Criminal Code. Charge was pressed against Vl. Davtyan according to the Points 6, 8 of the Part 2 of the Article 104, the Part 1 and 4 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against them.

Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to prosecutor supervising the legality of preliminary investigation.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
