26 year-old man’s murder committed in Gegharkunik region disclosed, charges pressed

In the result of urgent investigatory and operative-searching measures taken in the framework of the criminal case investigated in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee 26 year-old man’s murder committed in Gegharkunik region was disclosed; two people were detained, search was declared against one person.

The body of 26 year-old young man with traces of violence on the head was found on May 31, 2018 on the back seat of the car parked on the road from Sevan peninsula to Sevan’s governmental country house.

A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code preliminary investigation of which is conducted in the RA IC General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases.

In the result of investigatory and operative-searching measures of great volume a number of circumstances of 26 year-old man’s murder were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified.

Particularly, through preliminary investigation actual data were obtained on the allegation that 26 year-old young man was a resident of Gyumri where he transported passengers in his car of «VAZ 21074» make. The victim transported three foreigners – Georgian spouses and their friend who had arrived in Gyumri on May 29. On the day of the incident the victim transported them to Sevan by their order. Pursuant to data of the criminal case, the passengers used alcohol on the way. Getting to the road from Sevan peninsula to Sevan’s governmental country house the victim parked the car after which a row erupted between him and passengers. During the argument the passengers hit the young man on his head with stones for numerous times inflicting bodily damages incompatible with life.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against spouses according to the Point 7 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against them. One more person was involved as a defendant according to the Point 7 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code and search was declared against him.

The relevant division of the police was tasked to take measures to find and bring him to the investigative body.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
