Those involved in armed incident in Karbi community being found, their actions being personalized
Necessary investigatory and operative-intelligence measures are ongoing within the criminal case investigated in Aragatsotn Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out all circumstances of the armed incident that took place in Karbi community on May 27. As a result, charge was pressed against one person, two people were arrested.
On May 27, 2018 at about 22:30 a row erupted between a group of people in Karbi community near the municipality building. It turned into brawl, a firearm was used, blackjacks, cut-pierced item were used by several participants. During the incident 4 people sustained bodily injuries of different gravities.
A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Aragatsotn Regional Investigative Department according to the Part 4 of the Article 258, the Points 1, 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104, the Part 1 of the Article 112 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code.
In the result of joint investigatory and operative-intelligence measures of great volume taken together with the police the person who had fired shots in a way dangerous for many people’s life was identified; he is also a resident of Karbi. In the result of investigatory action conducted with his participation the rifle which was the crime tool was found at the area of the cemetery of Ohanavan village and confiscated. Charge was pressed against him according to the Points 1 and 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104, the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code.
Through preliminary investigation actual data were also obtained on two more people involved in the incident. They were arrested on suspicion of committing hooliganism with wooden blackjacks used as weapon (according to the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code).
Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigatory and operative-searching measures are taken to find out the frame of those involved in the incident and to personalize the actions of each of them.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
