Cases of illegal turnover of narcotic drugs in particularly large amount disclosed; charge pressed against 6 people

In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Malatia-Sebastia administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee cases of illegal turnover of narcotic drugs in particularly large amount were disclosed; charge was pressed against 6 people.

5 criminal cases initiated according to the Articles 266 and 268 of RA Criminal Code were received in the proceeding of the RA IC Investigative Division of Malatia-Sebastia administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department, by the investigator’s decision they were joint in one proceeding. Within the criminal case investigatory and operative-searching measures of great volume were taken to find the source of illegal acquirement of narcotic drugs and the frame of those related to their selling.

As a result, a number of cases of illegal turnover of narcotic drugs, psychotropic materials in particularly large amount were disclosed.

Based on the investigation results, charge was pressed against 6 people for illegal turnover of narcotic drugs, one of them is a prisoner of «Nubarashen» penitentiary of RA Ministry of Justice. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against 4 of the defendants, signature not to leave was chosen against one of them.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to find the possible relation of other people to illegal turnover of narcotic drugs and to give appropriate criminal-legal assessment to actions of each of them.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
