Only MP to vote ‘against’ Pashinyan in parliament is Samvel Alexanyan
The only lawmaker who voted against the candidacy of incumbent acting PM Nikol Pashinyan during today’s election in parliament is Samvel Alexanyan.
Before the voting began, the Republican [HHK] and ARF factions announced that they will not participate in the voting.
Pashinyan was the sole candidate.
He himself urged MPs not to vote in favor of his candidacy in order to deliberately fail the election to pave way for eventual dissolution of parliament and early elections.
His nomination was a formality, and the down vote was also a formality.
