Within criminal case on 20 year-old woman’s death husband detained

In the framework of the criminal case initiated in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on willful infliction of heavy bodily damage charge was pressed against 30 year-old man. The latter was detained.

It was earlier informed that on November 11, 2018 at 09:05 a call was received in Shengavit Division of the Police from «Erebuni» medical center informing that a young woman, born in 1998, with a diagnosis of «polytrauma» was taken to them by the 44th ambulance group. The woman was not able to give explanations, however, according to ambulance doctor, the woman had been beaten.

On November 12, 2018 at 12:25 the medical center informed that the 20 year-old woman died in hospital without regaining consciousness.

A criminal case was initiated according to the Point 14 of the Part 2 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code.

20 year-old woman’s husband, born in 1988, gave testimony. Through investigation a number of circumstances, the motive were found out.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against him according to the Part 2 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code.

The investigator submitted a motion to court to use detention as a pretrial measure against 30 year-old man. The motion was sufficed.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary measures are taken to provide the comprehensive examination of all circumstances of the case, to verify the circumstances mentioned in the testimonies.
