Business, culture, healthcare: Armenians of Cologne are represented in different sectors
Nearly 8000 Armenians live in the German city of Cologne. They are represented in different sectors, Serovbe Isakhanyan – Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Germany, told reporters.
“Nearly 8000 Armenians live in Cologne and nearby districts, but this is the approximate number because we do not have concrete statistics. Why there are so many Armenians in Cologne is because it is an industrial region. Armenians are represented in various fields- business, culture, healthcare, law. We can state that the Armenian community of Germany is at the establishment stage because Armenians who came from different countries are gradually getting along with each other”, he said.
Serovbe Isakhanyan said there is a very positive mood among the German-Armenian community towards the recent changes in Armenia.
“I personally belong to a Persian-Armenian generation that took the path of repatriation several years ago. And I will be very happy if there is an opportunity for repatriation for many people. Especially for those groups who left Armenia for healthcare problems, political, social and other reasons. This is a hope that every Armenian should have”, he said.
