EU ready to assist Armenia to improve electoral system
Ambassador Piotr Świtalski, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, considers the December 9, 2018, snap parliamentary elections of Armenia the best in the country’s history, but notes that the electoral system still needs reforms.
“Our opinions on the snap parliamentary elections are very clear. The elections were held at a very high level, were in accordance with the international standards and were the best ones in the history of independent Armenia. Armenia can be proud of being able to reach a very high reliability and transparency. The elections, however, were not perfect, which shows that the works on this direction should continue”, the EU Ambassador said during today’s press conference.
He stated that the EU is ready to assist the Armenian government to improve the electoral system.
