PM Nikol Pashinyan thanks American lawmakers for House recognition of Armenian Genocide

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has addressed the US House passage of the resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide at today’s Cabinet meeting.

“I think this is a very important event in the Armenian Genocide recognition process, and certainly this will give new momentum to this process. On this occasion I would like to express my appreciation to the Armenian organizations operating in the Diaspora, in this case in the United States, who have worked for decades to achieve the recognition of the genocide in the US and elsewhere. In practice, this decision matured for many years because virtually all US states have already recognized the Armenian Genocide on the state level and this became the summit and culmination of this process.

I would also like to thank the members of the Armenian Caucus in the House of Representatives and generally all members of the House of Representatives who voted in favor of the resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide,” the PM said.
