UNICEF Armenia names Artur Aleksanyan National Goodwill Ambassador
Greco-Roman world, Olympic and European wrestling Champion Artur Aleksanyan has been named UNICEF National Goodwill Ambassador in Armenia.
Aleksanyan will support UNICEF in promoting children’s right to healthy living and nutrition, prioritizing more vulnerable children.
“It is a great honor to become a goodwill ambassador. I accepted the offer immediately, because it has to do with children’s future,” the wrestler said.
He said that according to statistics 14% of children below the age of 5 are overweight, while 9% have malnutrition. “Every child must be healthy, by eating healthy, in order to achieve their dreams and goals,” the athlete said.
UNICEF Armenia Representative Tanja Radocaj thanked Aleksanyan for joining the UNICEF family and noted that with the athlete’s support they will achieve greater results in Armenia.
