‘Armenian side will work on its priorities’ – FM on upcoming meeting with Azerbaijani counterpart
The Armenian side is going to work over its priorities at the upcoming meeting of foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Elmar Mammadyarov in Bratislava, FM Mnatsakanyan told reporters today in Yerevan, asked what issues are going to the discussed at the expected meeting.
The FM said the Armenian side has a single package which involves issues relating to the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict itself, as well as the atmosphere.
“We have a one single package which includes very important issues relating to both the settlement itself and the atmosphere where the peaceful settlement process is taking place. All those issues are very important in their entirety, comprehensiveness. Our priorities regarding the settlement relate to the security and status of Nagorno Karabakh. And, of course, we will continue to test, develop the approaches, combinations where we will need to see that our key issues receive their respective expression”, the Armenian FM said.
He stated that the next issues relating to the atmosphere are also very important. “We had a very modest result in the past month and to continue working on this path is, of course, important and interesting to us. I attach equal importance, highlight the importance we give to all actions aimed at reducing risks of escalation”, he said.
The FM said making these actions a reality, strengthening the ceasefire regime and all the necessary measures which ensure the reduction of escalation risks are very important issues for the Armenian side.
“We are committed to the peaceful settlement. Within this one and a half year we showed our capacities and seriousness to be engaged in the peace process and work effectively. We have worked over the upcoming meeting. We are going to do our work, we have our priorities and will work over them”, the Armenian Foreign Minister said.
