Azerbaijan braces for first military drills after second Karabakh war
Since the eruption of the latest hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict zone, Azerbaijan is preparing for its first military exercises expected to attract an estimated 10,000 troops, RIA Novosti reported.
A statement released by the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow sees “absolutely no regional security and stability threats” about plans to hold the regular military event. A similar training is scheduled in Armenia for March 16.
The Azerbaijani military will feature 100 tanks and other military equipment, as well as artillery regimets and 30 units of military aviation, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
