Institution of criminal case by National Security Service against Anna Vardapetyan suspended under Nikol Pashinyan’s personal instruction
According to 168.am newspaper’s information, institution of the criminal case by the National Security Service (NSS) regarding the sensational case of obstruction of justice on the part of Anna Vardapetyan, NikolPashinyan’s assistant, was suspended underNikolPashinyan’s instruction.
According to information, the NSS gathered a sufficient amount of materials, and there are factual circumstances that were suffice to institute a criminal case, but under the direct instruction of the person occupying the seat of the Prime Minister, the subject was closed with a phone call on the 11th day of examination of the materials.
A few days ago, the presses reported that this topic has even led to the emergence of tense relations between Nikol Pashinyan and Director of the NSS Armen Abazyan.
On March 10, 168.am received sensational videos in its e-mail (the videos clearly showed how Advisor to NikolPashinyan for Legal Affairs Anna Vardapetyan is interfering in the preliminary investigation of the criminal cases instituted against businessman, former president of the Football Federation of Armenia Ruben Hayrapetyan and his son, Rafik Hayrapetyan by making corrections in the case materials and, in essence, instructing Artur Ayvazyan, the investigator for the case).
Based on the videos that 168.am presented, investigator Artur Ayvazyan transfers information constituting bank secret to Anna Vardapetyan via e-mail. In the videos, there are also Word (and other) documents in the names of different people, and as we clarified, these documents contain names of witnesses under the particular case. The existence of documents in the names of those people in the letters of the preliminary investigation body and the advisor to NikolPashinyanfor legal affairs serves as reasonable ground to assume that state officials actually “worked” with the witnesses in a cooperative manner.
The investigator had also transferred Ruben Hayrapetyan’s information constituting bank secret to Anna Vardapetyan via e-mail.
On April 6, another sensational audio recording was posted on the Internet, and once again, it concerns Pashinyan’s assistant and proves that in the Republic of Armenia, procedural ‘oversight’ over criminal cases is conducted by Pashinyan’s assistant Anna Vardapetyan, not the Prosecutor General’s Office. In accordance with the audio recording, Head of the Heavy Crimes Division of the Yerevan Investigation Department Armen Margaryan’s deputy Arman Abrahamyan sent a voice message to the investigators leading an investigation into the cases of former officials and informed them that Anna Vardapetyan, Advisor to NikolPashinyan, will visit the investigation body again.
“Good morning, everyone, your attention — for just one minute.On Tuesday, there will be another discussion on the cases under which the Prime Minister’s assistant Anna had come here and held discussions last time, she will come at 10. Make sure everything is complete with regard to those cases,” the assistant to the Deputy Head of the Heavy Crimes Division of the Investigation Department says.
