4 civilians wounded, at least 2570 others displaced as a result of Azerbaijani attacks on Armenian towns

There are 4 confirmed wounded civilians at this moment amid the Azerbaijani attacks on Armenia, the Human Rights Defender’s Office said in a statement, adding that it continues its fact-finding mission in the towns and villages that are being attacked by Azerbaijan.

At least 2570 people have been displaced from their homes in Gegharkunik’s Sotk, Norabak, Kut, Azat, Ayrk, Tretuk, Kutakavan and Syunik’s Tchakaten, Shikahogh, Srashen, Nerkin Hand, Aghitu, Akner and Verin Shen.

Most of those displaced are women, children, elderly, including persons with disabilities.

Cases of targeted attacks on ambulance vehicles were also recorded.

Significant evidence has been collected on Azeri bombardments of civilian infrastructure, including residential homes, communication and power infrastructures and others.

In several towns, especially in Sotk and Jermuk, the Azeri bombings led to forest fires encompassing more than 9 hectares.

“The level of Armenophobia recorded in the Azerbaijani media sphere, including by government officials, is highly dangerous and based on the previous experience is generating a high risk of war crimes by the Azerbaijani military,” the ombudsman’s office said.
