Gegham Manukyan: “Don’t do it! People won’t forgive you for that”
“Now they’re talking about a revolution in Artsakh. What revolution are they talking about? A revolution took place in Artsakh in 1988, and it was a revolution for national liberation. Now they’re merely talking about shift of power and are demanding indulgence from Artsakh. They say the Artsakh issue remains unsolved and are leaving the burden on the shoulders of the people. The issue was solved 30 years ago,’ member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun political party Gegham Manukyan declared at today’s rally.
“There are no enemies in our country. If there is an enemy, it is on the other side of the border. If you want to seek enemies, ask the freedom fighters scattered across Armenia and the veterans of the Four-Day Artsakh War who the enemies of the Armenians are, and they will all tell you the enemy is in the place where its leader was rather courteously appreciated. They want to take the entire army and all the commanders to the purgatory under the name of an investigation of the Four-Day Artsakh War that took place in April 2016. This is not a show. It is not something you talk about in a speech or at squares. It is not acting like you are the grandfather of deceased soldier of the Four-Day Artsakh War Robert Abajyan. Don’t do it! People won’t forgive you for that,” Gegham Manukyan declared.
Gegham Manukyan also declared that the ARF-D Party is showing the authorities a yellow card now and is telling them to take action since they are on a dangerous border.
Let us remind that when Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan shared his impressions of his short conversation with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Dushanbe, he declared the following: “He left a good, normal impression. We had a normal and civilized conversation. He left the impression of an educated person.”
Let us also remind that during the rallies led by Pashinyan that were part of the velvet revolution in 2018, Pashinyan’s teammates helped an old man come up on stage, and he presented himself as the grandfather of deceased hero of the Four-Day Artsakh War (April 2016) Robert Abajyan and gave a speech. The man told the thousands of participants of the rallies that he had seen Robert in his dream and that Robert had told him he wanted to participate in the rally organized by Pashinyan for one day. As soon as Robert Abajyan’s real grandfather and other relatives heard this speech, they got very angry that somebody was trying to playing games with them.
Ruben, Robert Abajyan’s brother, told the presses the following: “It is absurd. After the rally, I went to the place where the rally was being held and told actor Hayko, who was there, that this was not good for him and his teammates. I asked if there was anyone responsible for that, to which Hayko said there wasn’t. I don’t know what the point of that was. They want to organize some kind of PR, but it is not nice in any case.” This frustrated many people since the members of the My Step Alliance have tricked many times and spread false information in order to ignite passions that are ignited during rallies and make people get very emotional.
