I didn’t See Kazan Document: Vartan Oskanian
“We consider parliamentary elections are going to be rather fatal, and the future of our country will be decided by those very elections, that’s why we are of the opinion, that it’ll be very hard for separate political powers with the same purpose to succeed, that’s why we call for consolidation. We also call the people to consolidate,” Vartan Oskanian, NA MP, former MFA, said, touching upon his new “Consolidation” political party.
In his words, name of the party has been decided long ago. According to Oskanian, it’s impossible to further this way. The reason, the society should be consolidated around his party, Oskanian replied, “I didn’t say around our party only, I meant—around political powers, programs of which the society will approve. We have such ambitions, as we know, we’ll introduce a program, and people will see, that issues will be really settled, and we’ll try to go to this consolidation, submit a program and go ahead the forthcoming parliamentary elections, and reach government formation.”
V.Oskanian stated that the country faces lots of issues demanding solution, and they have proposals for settling them, and soon it will be introduced to the public.
To the statement by Eduard Sharmazanov, NA Deputy Speaker, if elections have been forged for 20 years, this means, appointment of Oskanian, as a MFA, was fake as well, the latter disagreed, saying he’s repeatedly stressed that elections were forged, and if RPA spokesman doesn’t notice it, at least, he lives in other planet.
He clarified, that by saying “forged” he means, that even if 10 votes have been forged, elections have diverted by 10 votes from their direction, and if there is violation, this means—the result didn’t express people’s will, accordingly, they’ve been forged.
“Ahead Parliamentary elections we’ll attempt to appear as a key political pole and during elections we’ll appear to the public as a real alternative to the leading political power. In this direction, we’ll be ready to cooperate with any political power, NGO, individual, who really intends to observe radical changes as a result of parliamentary elections,” Oskanian said, adding that throughout these days of war people, political powers and NGOs put everything aside and stood next to our army like one. According to him, any speculation, that political powers may destabilize the country, aren’t proper, “We had this experience, we prove to ourselves, to the world, when the country faces serious threats, everybody withdraws his/her discrepancies and consolidates like one and stand next to our people and army.”
Oskanian stated, he’s not aware of Kazan document, “I didn’t see Kazan document.” He was surprised, that he was against Madrid Principles, “In which speech did I mention this?”
To the question where Oskanian should find funds for his political party, he replied that more possible circles will be engaged, that every individual, at least by insignificant investment, participated and felt like a part of that party, “We will really throw down the gauntlet to all stereotypes existent towards political parties. I’m going to apply to business circles, meet students in the universities, we should integrate the society in political processes. We simulate that people may participate in political processes without fear. I’m throwing down the gauntlet to that issue and attempt to open that field.”
Oskanyan stated he’ll challenge business circles, standing next to the authorities and he’ll attempt to “break” it, as all business circles can’t be next to authorities all united, businessmen have other interests, “The political party introduces a program of reducing taxes for SMEs, I consider, all people from that circle should be interested in us to come to power.”
