Light not to Spread on National Air Carrier

A month ago 168.am reported that a few companies submitted an application to the RA Ministry of Economy to obtain air operator’s certificate. Applications were to be discussed at the council’s session and decision was to be made. Among the companies applying for air operator’s certificate “Aviacompania Armenia” LLC, registered in Armenia quite recently—18 December 2015. It’s co-founder, citizen of Georgia Robert Ogannesyan announced, that “Armenia” company works by 99% now, just a few issues are left to settle.”

However, up to day council for issues related to discussion of applications for airway exploitation for regular and irregular air transfers and airway specification under the Ministry satisfied none of the demands. As Anna Chobanyan, Head of Department for Civil Aviation Policy and Economic Regulation, in an interview with 168.am stated that applications weren’t complete.

“Up to day we didn’t have complete applications. There were air companies, which submitted an application, however, they didn’t submit all necessary documentation enshrined by governmental order,” Chobanyan said.

She assured that demands defined for airlines are not that high and correspond to European standards, “Any additional demand isn’t implemented on airlines.”

A.Chobanyan stated, if interested, airlines may collect documents and in case of a complete application the council is always ready to discuss them.
