There are no any Problems and Issues between Armenia and Georgia, which are Impossible to Solve through Joint Efforts: Nalbandyan

“Throughout years between representatives of the two neighboring governments, close partnership ties have traditionally been developed directed to strengthening and deepening relations between our countries,” Edward Nalbandyan, RA Minister of Foreign Affairs, told at today’s joint press conference with Mikheil Janelidze, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, touching upon Armenia-Georgia relations.

He stated that meetings between MFAs provide a good opportunity in this regard, and saying that relations between Armenia and Georgia are friendly, means saying very little. “Everything characterizing our nations, are closely linked and not accidentally, we live next to each other for thousands of years. This is a liaison based on mutual respect and checked with time.”

Relations between the two countries continue to extend, deepen, having such a connecting liaison as Armenian community of Georgia. For foreign offices of the countries located in the same geo-political environment, exchange of opinions on international and regional issues is useful,” the Minister said.

As for bilateral relations, according to Nalbandyan, there are no any problems and issue between Armenia and Georgia, which aren’t possible to solve through joint efforts.

“More than 80 accords have been reached between our countries referring almost all the fields, and that rich legal contractual field, bilateral willingness is a good ground for deepening bilateral relations. We agreed on more activation of consultation between the two MFAs, we exchanged ideas regarding intergovernmental commissions, reflection to these issues will be recorded with Mr. Janelidze’s meeting with the Prime Minister, we also spoke of active intergovernmental cooperation. Together with my Georgian partner we have discussed issues on substructure development, cooperation in the fields of energy, trade and economy, tourism.”

We continue cooperation with Georgia regarding Armenian cultural heritage maintenance, evidence to which is presence of RA president and Catholicos of all Armenians and high-ranking officials of Georgia at the ceremony of consecration of Armenian st. George church in Tbilisi. I informed my counterpart on average development of settlement of Karabakh issue, in this regard, it’s important Georgia’s support in exclusively peaceful unfolding of the issue directed to efforts of Minsk group co-chairmanship of the only formula having intermediary international mandate,” Nalbandyan said.
