Hopefully Armenia-EU Relations will Obtain a New Course: Świtalski
“Armenia-EU relations have entered an intensive phase around the frame agreement,” Ambassador Piotr Świtalski, Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, told at today’s civil society discussion on “Observations of the civil society on EU-Armenia relations,” touching upon Armenia-EU negotiations.
He stated that negotiations are at an active phase, which within EaP reviewed policy is a positive signal for the future. Świtalski said, that the EU, for which strength and stability of the state and the society are a priority, wants Armenia to record economic, employment growth.
Besides this, according to Świtalski Armenia’s security challenges are a crucial topic as well, starting from the field of cyber security. Head of EU Delegation to Armenia stated, that by Armenia’s example they attempt to show, that it’s possible to be a member of another integration organization and cooperate with the EU.
“We do everything possible, to prove Armenia’s authorities and the society, that’s it’s possible, and in this regard there are no discordances. Hopefully, Armenia-EU relations will obtain a new process, and the signals, coming from the society and the officials will be taken into consideration,” the Ambassador said. In his words, the EU observes that the society strives to be closer to the EU.
