All Hostages Released in Yerevan
Hostages kept in the seized police HQ in Yerevan had been released. Deputy chief of Armenia’s police Vardan Yeghiazaryan and deputy chief of Yerevan policy Valery Osipyan has been released by an armed group.
According to Shant TV, member of the group Varuzhan Avetisyan met with the director of the National Security Service Gevorg Kutoyan and decided to release two more hostages in exchange for setting up a media center. The report was confirmed for Shant TV by General Vitaly Balasanyan who was a mediator in the meeting.
“Yeghiazaryan and Osipyan have been released an hour ago. Currently they are in the operative staff,” Balasanyan said.
Earlier two young policemen have been released as well. For the time being there are no hostages in the terriory of police HQ and the process of creating a neutral zone for communication with reporters is underway.
