I expect groundbreaking projects: Karen Karapetyan
Armenian Premier Karen Karapetyan convened a consultation on November 3 focusing on issues of ICT sector development prospects. “For me this sector is one of the main economic drivers and I am ready to openly discuss with you all the issues referring to it,” the PM mentioned at the beginning of the consultation, adding that he expects to hear specific proposals and visions of the participants that they believe the government should implement for the progress of the sector.
The press service of the Armenian Government informed that a number of ideas and projects aimed at the development of the sector were introduced to the PM. The PM also inquired about the practical results of a number of projects implemented together with the government and highlighted their continuity, at the same time emphasizing the necessity to take measures for a breakthrough and longterm development of the sector.
“I need groundbreaking projects. What should we change to develop your sector, business, or market apart from specific projects? What stands on your way? I need to understand the policy of your sector,” Karen Karapetyan said, adding that the Government sets an investment fund aimed at fostering business in general, including the ICT sector. The PM assigned the Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of Armenia to collaborate with the representatives of the ICT sector, clearly define the joint tasks and elaborate and submit specific projects.
