“Of course, I don’t consider that it’s coincidence: this is the reflection of Russian big policy in the South Caucasus, generally in the Caucasus. However, let’s observe them one by one, as Armenia is an independent, sovereign country, and although I’m completely sure, that military cooperation, as well as generally policy pursued by Russia contradicts Armenia’s national interests, Armenia’s authorities have the right to make that decision.”
The Minister clarified, “you shouldn’t be elected an MP, but become a candidate,” there are certain eligibility demands on involvement in the other list, which after submitting the list, will be assessed by the competent state authority.
“But we also assess well enough the irreversible damage we can inflict on the adversary. I think there is no need to go deeper. We will not engage in arms race, we see no sense in that” Serzh Sargsyan said, adding that Armenia’s resources, both human and material, are enough to solve the tasks.
“We have reached the point where though we have to think about saving money, restricting and adopting a conservative budget, we have managed to effectively withstand the challenges, ensure economic growth, raise the competitiveness of the economy, and expand export volumes. The policy of just relying on external donations loans is already in the past,” he added.
“Armenia’s economic immunity has greatly changed during these years, we have managed to develop all the institutions that are able to well mitigate all the external negative waves and prevent them from reaching our people, families with no obstacles,” Serzh Sargsyan said, noting that Armenia recorded 29.3% economic growth in the period of 2007-2015, while the growth is assessed at 32% by the IMF.
“This process will cover all the country after the hospitals in Mingachevir and Yevlakh districts make use of compulsory health insurance. It will be introduced in most parts of the country in 2018.”
