Karen Karapetyan will continue leading the Cabinet if RPA receives trust vote at the forthcoming elections: Serzh Sargsyan

After the coming elections the incumbent Premier of Armenia will keep his position if the Republican Party receives trust vote, President of Armenia, leader of the RPA Serzh Sargsyan mentioned in his speech at the 16th summit of the party.

“He will continue the implementation of the already outlined programs,” Sargsyan said, expressing unconditional support to the PM and the Cabinet on behalf of the Republican Party. “On behalf of all of us I hail the decision of PM Karapetyan and other Cabinet members to become a member of the Republican Party,” President Sargsyan said, adding that the number one task of the Cabinet is to focus on the economy, to effectively respond all the challenges and ensure long-term social-economic development.

“Armenia’s economic immunity has greatly changed during these years, we have managed to develop all the institutions that are able to well mitigate all the external negative waves and prevent them from reaching our people, families with no obstacles,” Serzh Sargsyan said, noting that Armenia recorded 29.3% economic growth in the period of 2007-2015, while the growth is assessed at 32% by the IMF.

“At the same time, according to the data of the same IMF, Europe recorded 8.9% economic growth and the CIS – 22.4%”, the President stated.
