Harutyun Chkolyan’s “Armenian Soundscapes. Duduk. Zurna. Ney” with fresh interpretation of Traditional Armenian Folk, Gusan Shahen and Sayat Nova

Recently musician Harutyun Chkolyan’s first album “Armenian Soundscapes. Duduk. Zurna. Ney” was released, which includes both traditional songs and 8 from World music.

“”Armenian Soundscapes” is the result of a one-year thorough work, which was brought to life together with Pomegranate Music. Finally, we succeeded to have the music and sound compliant with western standards, to which we were striving regarding quality.

I play 3 musical instruments—duduk, zurna and ney. I’d particularly like to speak of Garegin Arekelyan’s “Sunrise,” which for the first time will be played today, as well as Ara Dinkchyan’s “Offering” and Grigor Arakelian’s “Tidings and dance” (Aveits ev par), which are also important to me,” Harutyun Chkolyan told 168.am.
