Heathrow Airport has released its first ever Christmas advert
Not only have the biggest department stores and supermarkets treated us to the charming tales of their elaborate Christmas adverts this year, Heathrow Airport has also joined in. The UK’s biggest airport has released their very first festive commercial and it’s absolutely lovely.
The emotional clip has two key components that make for a great Christmas/travel advert: teddy bears and good music. The ad shadows an adorable bear couple whose journey through the airport is a hard, and all-too-relatable one. After having some difficulty collecting their luggage and trying to buy a treat from the airport convenience shop, the bears look around nervously for their family at arrivals. That’s when the couple miraculously turn into humans and are then greeted by two excited grandchildren.
Watch it here…
“Christmas is my favourite time of year at Heathrow – the airport is abuzz with families and friends reuniting for this special time of year,” Heathrow’s commercial director Jonathan Coen, told The Drum. “We love the film and hope the bears’ journey through the airport captures that excitement you feel when walking through Heathrow arrivals into the arms of your loved ones at Christmas.”
Overall, the commercial’s message is short and sweet: coming home is the best gift of all, and we wholeheartedly agree.
