MP Bagratyan didn’t want to be 7th in ANC list

MP Hrant Bagratyan, who is the 3 rd in the proportional list of “Free Democrats” party in the upcoming parliamentary election, presented details over the talks held with various political forces ahead of the election. In a meeting with reporters on February 20, Bagratyan stated that in February, 2016 he applied to 6 parties with a proposal to jointly take part in the election.

“I had meetings with the members of the Armenian National Congress (ANC). I have met with Levon Ter-Petrosyan, then with Levon Zurabyan. They told me let’s join each other, 3 people from us will be in the list, and 1 from you. I didn’t agree with this option,” Bagratyan said, adding that he couldn’t go on this option and be the 7 th in the ANC list. Bagratyan also held talks with the “Heritage” party, however, the discussions brought to no results.

“Raffi Hovhannisyan asked to give time for discussing it and promised to call, inform, but he hasn’t called yet,” he said. MP Bagratyan held discussions with the member of the Board of “Civil contract” party Nikol Pashinyan on jointly taking part in the election. Firstly Pashinyan said they will take part in the election with their party. Later, when the option became possible that the “Civil contract” party may take part with an alliance, Bagratyan again held discussions with the party Board member Sasun Mikayelyan. Then Nikol Pashinyan informed that this must be agreed with “Bright Armenia” party Chairman Edmon Marukyan, he promised to inform about the results, however, till now they didn’t tell anything to Bagratyan.
