Karen Karapetyan’s call to the Diaspora Armenians

Karen Karapetyan, Prime Minister of Armenia,  called on the Diaspora Armenians to take part in building the future of the Fatherland, which pasted posted on his official Facebook page:

“Dear Armenians, our compatriots of Diaspora, I have an honor to address a call on you and all those who are not indifferent towards Armenia, to participate in constructing the future of the Fatherland.

Armenia and Diaspora are two parts of one common, linked with each other with a one chain of history, one fate, concern about the future of the Fatherland. We are responsible towards each other which convince us to unite efforts, multiply the opportunities and improve our position in the etiquette of the world. We have no option than the imperative of building a good country and having a strong and fair Fatherland. It’s time to turn and tell ourselves that we can change only through our strength and our mind.

On the way of independence we had achievements, also mistakes due to objective and subjective factors. We have understood the shortcomings, and we no longer have a right to repeat the same mistakes. Our country’s geographical position and today’s challenges force us to be clever and smartly use our competitive advantages. Our pride today is decided by a smart human potential of Armenia, Diaspora and Karabakh, rather than by oil and gas.

We are going to change and to reach that horizon we have one clear formula: patriot team, will, smart management and programs that will become a driving force to change the quality of the environment. We invite our managers of Diaspora, cultural figures, our compatriots famous in education and science field to take part in the ongoing reforms in the country first of all aimed at bringing a new culture of governance, serving the knowledge and potential of our best professionals of Diaspora for the pan-Armenian goals.

From this perspective Diaspora is an advantage for us. Not using the Diaspora’s potential means to be self-centered and isolated. Not providing the existing progressive mind in the Diaspora to our partners, youth and students, means to be ineffective in today’s rapidly changing world. The culture of Diaspora must be realized in our life: I am confident every contact with our compatriots will give new impetus and encouragement to us, the value of which, perhaps, cannot be counted, but the result will definitely bring a change in the outlook, tolerance towards value systems, raising the efficiency of governance and work. This will already be the success of all of us.

Dear compatriots, I am sure that with your direct participation you will have a chance to record quick results in key sectors and will have leading economic, healthcare, educational systems in the region.

By maintaining the traditional values, at the same time it is necessary to be open and tolerant for the developing outside world. To adopt the best cultural skills of other people and make Armenia more recognizable to the world with your help.

Regardless of which country we live in, I have an inner conviction that the attention and mind of all of you is in Armenia, and the feeling of pride and dignity of all of you is related also with the welfare of Armenia. Thus, let’s do everything to strengthen each other, to be united and jointly build the country’s future in order our children are confident that Armenia will not yield the advanced countries where Armenians frequently visit with the expectation of having a good life.

Be sure, Armenia will be the best country for Armenians. Every Armenian, concerned over our country’s future, has to take actions on this path. Regardless of the place of living, political affiliation and social position, we all share one idea over which we must be united: strong, maintaining historical values and traditions, but also a modern, proud Armenia. I call on to jointly create such Fatherland that we can proudly call ourselves Armenian in the world.

Looking forward to see you.”
