Women play irreplaceable role in the society in all levels: Piotr Świtalski

Ambasador Piotr Świtalski, Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, issued a congratulatory message on the occasion of Women’s Day, which reads:

“Dear Women,

The European Union marks International Women’s Day every year and we use the occasion to remind ourselves and our partners of our strong commitment to gender equality.

The role of women in society continues to be underscored by their presence and impact. Women play irreplaceable role in the society in all levels. The protection and promotion of women’s and girls’ rights and gender equality is a policy priority for the EU’s external relations. The EU is strongly committed to playing a lead role in this respect.

The EU has done a lot in Armenia, but the gender equality remains as unfinished business. Our cooperation is gender sensitive, not only because equality remains at the core of EU – Armenia shared values, but also because of the opportunities or missed opportunities. We will continue to fund and monitor actions in Armenia promoting gender equality for all in any sector of activity.
