ARF not to participate in Yerevan City Council elections

The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) will not take part in the May 14 Yerevan City Council elections. Analyzing the unexpected low results of the party in the parliamentary election, consulting with the Committees of Yerevan administrative districts, the ARF Yerevan City Committee considers it inappropriate to take part in the City Council election.

“At this stage our major goal is to examine the causes of our structure’s result registered during the April 2 parliamentary election and to draw necessary conclusions. We hope our citizens, who are ready to form Yerevan City Council with a conscious vote, will understand our decision. At the same time we are obliged to keep in spotlight all issues of Yerevan and participate in solving them within our capacity,” the statement said.
