Armenia’s Ombudsman on death of “Bread Bringer”
All materials referring to “Bread Bringer” Artur Sargsyan have been sent to the Investigative Committee by the Human Rights Defender, when criminal proceeding was launched. Arman Tatoyan, Human Rights Defender of Armenia told reporters today.
“There may be such a public impression, however, I assure through our work we have considerably contributed to guaranteeing health condition and generally protection of rights by means of constant, everyday visits. Those weren’t accidental visits. They meant for control. We only had two issues with Artur Sargsyan—he was refusing medical assistance and he was in a hunger-strike.
Our issue is to provide, to control that the penitentiary provided correct medical service and that the whole process was informed,” Arman Tatoyan said.
