What Aliyev says is a blackmail, and not a mutual concession: Serzh Sargsyan
President of Armenia calls on Paris, Moscow and Washington to show Azerbaijan what price will pay any of Karabakh conflict sides in case of war resumption.
“Threat for a new war exists as long as Azerbaijan isn’t convinced that the issue doesn’t have a military settlement,” Serzh Sargsyan said, adding that Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev disrupts peaceful settlement attempts.
“He says he won’t resume war if Armenia implements its liabilities, I say, it’s a blackmail, and not a mutual concession,” prior to his visit to Paris Armenia’s president told Agence France Press.
“Upon public perception resumption of military operations is an issue of time, maybe week or months, accordingly, Armed Forces leader and Defense Minister should be ready for war, which may resume tomorrow,” Sargsyan said, stressing that he doesn’t consider that resumption of a new war is a matter of future, at the same time, not excluding anything.
In an interview with the French agency Armenia’s president expressed concern in connection with selling of armaments to Azerbaijan by Russia, costing billions of dollars. “We accept it with pain, as Russia is our strategic ally,” Serzh Sargsyan said.
