Poll: Why did people decide to take part in the elections?

98% of survey respondents, carried out by the All-Russian Center for Public Opinion Research, said they are aware of the upcoming parliamentary election in the country, Valery Fyodorov, CEO of the All-Russian Center for Public Opinion Research, presented the results of the survey in a meeting with reporters on March 9.

“72% of the survey participants said they will definitely take part in the election. Interest towards election is higher in Yerevan, however, in provinces as well there is a big interest,” Fyodorov said. Asked why did you decide to take part in the election, majority of the respondents said it is their political right and duty.

“The next argument proposed by them is that they want to help the party they believe in. Some part of the respondents said they want changes, that’s why they will participate in the election, and some of them said they will take part in the election since they don’t want someone to vote instead of him/her.

Several respondents stated that they are taking part in the election as they want to contribute to the country’s development,” Valery Fyodorov said. Those, who said they will not take part in the election, explained that they have lost the belief and hope towards the elections.

“Some part of the respondents said they are busy on that day and are unable to take part in the election. Some of them said they do not believe at all that changes can be achieved through elections, and some of them stated that they are not taking part since there are no preferable political force for him/her,” he said.

The survey was conducted in the entire territory of Armenia. 36% of the respondents live in Yerevan, 29% in other cities and 36% in villages. Overall 1600 people took part in the survey
