Former Armenian defense minister unveils plan to run for parliament
Former Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan on Thursday announced his decision to run for the National Assembly in the upcoming snap elections.
But he did not elaborate on a specific political team or format as he said down for an interview with Kentron TV Channel.
“It is the constitutional right, and at times also – especially in this tight, inextricable situation – the obligation of each and every person to have his or her participation. I, as a citizen of Armenia, will join the process, but I still have to decide with what political force,” he said.
Ohanyan also reaffirmed his earlier position that a defeated government must resign “to pave the way to the election of a new person” to organize the electoral processes.
