The Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) has expressed deep concern over the criminal proceedings and arrest motion against former President Robert Kocharyan.

CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov, who is indicted under the March 1 case, has arrived at the Court of General Jurisdiction in Shengavit district of Yerevan.

Amid an ongoing investigation into the March 1 case, the Special Investigative Service (SIS) of Armenia has charged CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov, the Armenian general who served as deputy minister of defense in 2008, with article 300.1 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code – breaching constitutional order in conspiracy with others – the same accusation faced by former President Robert Kocharyan.

A soldier of the Artsakh’s Defense Army has been wounded by Azerbaijani gunfire in the evening of July 26 while on duty in a northeastern base.

A Yerevan court has adjourned the hearing over the motion to remand former President Robert Kocharyan in custody. The hearing is set to continue 01:30, Kocharyan’s attorney Aram Orbelyan said.
