The Prime Minister about the Offshore and Flash
“I know that our honorable Prime Minister gets tired of our repeating questions about corruption,” yesterday during the NA Q&A session said a member of the NA ANC faction Levon Zurabyan. Then he addressed the Prime Minister by saying, “There is indeed one more question, which are Prime Minister must be tired of. It is directly connected with the international rating of our state. Where have your half year attempts of getting rid of the offshore scandals taken you?” Zurabyan also asked why the government’s subsidy to attain diesel has always been given to Barsegh Beglaryan’s Flash company. “It is evident that the government has illegally provided subsidies to this company, which caused the strengthening of its positions in the market,” he said. As a response to the question about the offshore scandal Sargsyan said that he’s the most interested person to investigate the offshore scandal. “I have stated that I haven’t authorized anybody to open an offshore company under my name.
As a Prime Minister I have never been to Cyprus and couldn’t have registered a company there. This is a provable fact. And we all know that it is possible to open an offshore under anybody’s name, even dead people sometimes appear on record. I understand that there are numerous tools to vilify politicians and I don’t think this is a right goal,” stated the Prime Minister.
As of the second question of the ANC MP he said that if someone reviews the names of major businessmen, who participate in the competitions for government subsidies then they are all his friends because he communicates with all of them. “I get to communicate and work with all of them. This is not an objective and accurate assessment of the circumstance. I respect Barsegh Beglaryan but there are no such things as economic interests.” When adverting to the Prime Minister’s comment Zurabyan said, “You have said that the facts are provable but six months have passed without any proof. The problem is to save the reputation of the country and not to vilify you.” As of Flash company then the MP said that no competition was organize and the subsidy was just granted to Flash company. “Can we ever reach the point when your enemy will win this competition?” “I don’t have any enemies as of the rest of the procedures, they all conformed to the Armenian legislation. Thanks for thinking of our country. But I have presented facts that are verified,” said Sargsyan.
