Tigran Avinyan deems that 168.am and Davit Sargsyan are to blame for his low rating

February 25, 2023, 168.am and its YouTube channel published another edition of the “Two Faces” program authored by 168.am journalist Davit Sargsyan, about the de facto mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, the mayoral candidate of NikolPashinyan’s “Civil Contract” party in the upcoming elections of the Yerevan Council․

The video was titled “Tigran Avinyan, the newlyrichman”. Extracts from Tigran Avinyan’s interviews were used, and other information about the deputy mayor and his family, friends’ businesses, and property taken exclusively from open sources. It turns out that Tigran Avinyan does not like to face the truth and has applied to the court with a demand to apologize, to oblige him to deny the information defaming his honor, dignity and business reputation and to pay monetary compensation.

Defendants in this lawsuit are Davit Sargsyan and 168 Zham LLC. Tigran Avinyan and his representative, HarutyunHarutyunyan, did not submit a denial claim before applying to the court. Moreover, neither Davit Sargsyan nor 168.am received any notification after the lawsuit was accepted.

That’s not enough, Davit Sargsyan’s salary account and real estate were put a lien on, because the plaintiff requested the court to apply a means of securing the claim, which was partially granted, in the amount of 9 million drams.

“I learned about Tigran Avinyan’s lawsuit through Datalex. “I have not received the claim until today, but the means of securing the claim was applied without even sending the claim to me,” said Davit Sargsyan.

The journalist learned that they put a lien on his salary account yesterday evening when he wanted to pay the utility bills and was unable to do so.

Late in the evening, I found out that the detention was imposed by the decision of the court on May 2. In fact, the court received the decision on May 8, and on that very day it put a lien on my account. “This morning, I learned from the Compulsory Enforcement Service (CES) that a 9 million drams lien has been placed on my bank account and real estate,” said Davit Sargsyan.

It turns out that if the Court partially satisfied the request to apply an interim measure and Pput a lien on the journalist’s accounts and property, that is, in the amount of 9 million drams, then Tigran Avinyan demanded a much larger amount.

Anyway, let’s state once again that neither 168.am nor Davit Sargsyan received any notification from the court or Tigran Avinyan’s representative regarding the lawsuit, while we learn from the same datalex.am that Tigran Avinyan’s lawsuit was received by the court on March 21.

Court Case N: ED/13020/02/23

The claim was addressed to Ruben Buniatyan, the judge of the Civil Court of Yerevan, and then on April 18, a reassignment was made on the basis of the judge’s temporary incapacity. Currently, the case is under the proceedings of Yerevan Civil Court judge Eduard Grigori Amalyan.

The judge, after readdressing, accepted the lawsuit on May 2 and on that very day examined the issue of placing a lien on the property belonging to the defendant Davit Sargsyan in the amount of the lawsuit and partially, in the amount of 9 million drams, in fact, satisfied it.

Tigran Avinyanthinks that he can avoid publicizing information about himself by applying to the courts and placing a lien on the accounts and properties of journalists.

This is not something new. It is typical of the pro CC government to try to silence the media and journalists by putting them in a difficult financial situation, but as they have had the opportunity to see many times, it does not work.

And Tigran Avinyan thinks in vain that 168.am and Davit Sargsyan are to blame for his low rating.
