Canadian Meat and Seafood on the Table of Armenian Consumers
The Embassy of Canada in Moscow organized a food promotion event in Yerevan on January 26th, 2016, where representatives of the Armenian HORECA and meat production sector were introduced to Canadian food products such as meat, seafood and wine.
The event hosted representatives of the Armenian Ministry of Agriculture, meat production sector, hotels, restaurants and catering services, where the guests had the opportunity to try delicious high quality Canadian food such as pork meat, angus beef meat, shrimps, other seafood and wine from different regions of Canada. An invited culinary professional from Moscow told the guests about the specific taste of Canadian food and regions that produce each of them.
Ambassador John R. Kur said the event was an opportunity for Armenian people to try Canadian food. “We have organized this Canadian evening, where we will serve Canadian meat and wine. We are working hard to develop cooperation between Canada and Armenia. Cooperation in the sector of agriculture is very important for us. In 2015 the volume of Armenian export to Canada grew by 35 per cent. There are a number of Canadian successful investments in Armenia,” said the Ambassador.
The guests enjoyed high quality Canadian pork meat that was sponsored to be delivered to Armenia by Canada Pork International that unites Canadian pork exporters to promote Canadian pork products worldwide.
Canada has highly developed infrastructure in agriculture and trade sector that offer high quality production standards, taste, trade and logistics services that make its products available to world markets.
Kamo Mailyan, representative of Ronald A. Chisholm Limited, a Canadian company that is specialized in international food merchandising since 1938, says he is proud to offer the services of a company with many years of professional experience in sourcing, trade and logistics that offer high quality meat, seafood, dairy and other products to Armenian importers. “Canada is the world’s third-largest pork exporter, sending more than $2.6 billion worth of pork products to more than 100 countries around the globe every year. In the global food industry, especially in rapidly changing market conditions that we see today, it is very important for Armenian importers to have business partners that offer professional and reliable trade services, first-hand sourcing of products and high quality. I am happy to be here today to offer that reliability and high quality,” said the representative of Ronald A. Chisholm Limited of Canada.
Ambassador John Kur assured that with the growing trade and investment ties with Canada, the Canadian Embassy in Moscow and the Consulate in Armenia are working to strengthen reliable trade and business cooperation with Armenia.
