NKR MoD Warns Azerbaijan: Statement

Following the verbal arrangement reached between the parties to the conflict on April 5 on the maintenance of ceasefire, Azerbaijan’s military leadership adopted a tactics which obviously shows that the official Baku, on the one hand, takes provocative actions to deliberately escalate the situation, while on the other hand, rushes to present the developments along the frontline as consequences of offensive actions by the Armenian sides.

It is noteworthy that for the implementation of its tactics, Azerbaijan utilizes all the sneaky and monstrous means available in its arsenal. The aforementioned is proved by the fact of turning its frontline settlements into firing positions through deployment of artillery and armored vehicles, from where the adversary, mostly during the night hours, shells and bombards the Armenian positions and peaceful settlements.

Hiding behind civilian residents and hence, turning them into human shields, the Azerbaijani military command has been doing this dirty business for days.

Given the current situation, the Ministry of Defense of the NKR advises the Azerbaijani army to respect the arrangement on ceasing  the fire reached between the parties on the latter’s request and warns against turning the peaceful settlements into firing positions and  making them legitimate military targets. Otherwise, the Azerbaijan’s military-political command will bear the whole responsibility for the consequences.
